I am a rancher, a rancher's daughter, and lifelong artist. I've been married to Cliff for 51 years. I have many interests including a lifelong love of cows as well as well as the other livestock and pets you find on a ranch. I'm also an avid gardener.
For many years Debbie delivered livestock to customers through the country. Abandoned homesteads were everywhere. The rural way of life was disappearing fast and so were the open spaces where cows and wildlife roamed. It became her mission to record the ranch way of life and this very important piece of history.
I've been an artist since I was ten. I loved the wildlife, the cows and horses and rural landscape that surrounded me. Eleven years ago I decided to take my art seriously. I'd been noticing the disturbing changes in my way of life. The days of ranchers helping ranchers with harvesting and brandings were nearly gone. The path was clear as I noticed how much this way of life had changed. I paint a lot of wildlife and livestock. They are an endless source of inspiration but I also paint pets and flowers and anything else that catches my attention. I work in acrylic, oils sometimes, graphite and colored pencil.
I am largely self taught although I am not sure there is such a thing. I've taken workshops from several well known artists over the years like Robert Hagan, Valeria Yost who sells through Wild Wings and long time friend Kaye York. I've also taken several online workshops.
